Our terrace pools have a plastic insert made of polyethylene plastic. Cleaning is done if necessary using a cloth and possibly some mild detergent without surfactants.
We have two different models of heaters, an internally triangular-shaped one and an external one. These should be regularly emptied of ash using an ash shovel or a heavy-duty vacuum cleaner. Too much ash in the heater can negatively affect circulation and heating time.
It is important to ensure that the terrace pool is completely filled with water before starting the fire, otherwise the plastic insert and/or the heater may be damaged. Also, make sure that the fire and all embers are completely extinguished and the heater is cool before draining the water from your pool.
For the best heating time, we recommend using the insulated cover while the fire is burning.
For best use, it’s important that you read the manual for your gas heater before using the hot tub. It’s also good to check regularly that all hoses and the regulator are intact and look good.
The filter for the pump on the gas heater must be cleaned after each use. If you use very dirty water (e.g. seawater), the filter may need to be cleaned during the heating process as well. We recommend filling your hot tub with tap water.
Chlorine should not be used in gas-heated terrace pools. We recommend Bio Cools Disinfect My Pool as a disinfectant.
If you don’t empty your terrace pool after each use, it’s important to keep an eye on the water to make sure it doesn’t freeze. No guarantees apply if you keep the water in the terrace pool and it causes damage due to freezing. Therefore, we recommend always emptying the water from the pool when it’s cold outside if you don’t have the ability to monitor the water.
If you have a wood-burning terrace pool, and it’s insulated with an insulated cover, the water can remain ice-free for up to a month after heating the water. In some cases, you may need to maintain the fire in between. However, it’s important to remember that if you have an external stove, it needs to be disconnected from the pool so it can be drained of water since the water in the stove and hoses freezes faster than the water in the terrace pool. You can disconnect the stove by plugging the bottom of the connection holes. Then you can drain the stove and hoses of water.
If you have a gas-heated hot tub, you must empty the water from the hot tub after use during the winter. You must also make sure that the water flows out of the hoses so they don’t freeze. The gas heater and gas cylinder must be stored in a frost-free area when not in use.
If it’s very cold outside, it’s also important to keep an eye on the gas heater while it’s heating. If, for example, the gas cylinder runs out or freezes during heating, the gas heater will stop, and there’s a risk that the hoses will freeze if you don’t keep an eye on the gas heater. Also, remember that the gas heater’s battery runs out faster during the winter and needs to be replaced more often.
If you fill your tub, heat it up, and then drain it, you generally don’t need to add any bactericidal agent. If you use water that you know contains bacteria before heating, you need to add a bactericidal agent. We recommend biocools disinfect my pool water.
If you use the same water more than once, you should add a bactericidal agent. We recommend bio cools disinfect my pool water. To remove dirt, there is the Aquaclarus purification plant that you can hang on the edge of your tub and let it run for a couple of hours before and after bathing. It removes surface dirt, and in combination with a bactericidal agent, you can keep the water for up to two months.
To keep the water clean of dirt, it’s good to shower before bathing.
The stoves and gas heater cannot withstand chlorine or disinfectants with corrosive agents. The warranty on the hot tub only applies when using biocools disinfectant.
If you keep the water in the terrace pool between your baths, it’s important to keep an eye on and test pH, water hardness, and alkalinity. If you have incorrect values for the water, it can damage, especially the stove on your terrace pool.
Our stoves are also equipped with a sacrificial anode, which is used to protect the stove from attack. It’s important to check and clean/replace the sacrificial anode as needed.
